Service - PC Provo guarantees all our work to resolve the problem(s) as described to us upon the service request. For the problem and service to be under warranty it must be described/entered upon the service request form on computer drop off. Please be as detailed as possible when describing the issue and when answering any questions so PC Provo can provide you with the best service possible.
Parts - If a part or parts are replaced, PC Provo offers a 30 day warranty on those parts and labor; PC Provo offer a 7 day warranty if a used/refurbished part is used for the repair. If the damage or malfunction is deemed to have been a result of adjustments, installations, or upgrades by non PC Provo staff, this warranty may be void at the discretion of PC Provo.
Custom Built Computers- PC Provo has a 90 day guarantee on all new custom built machines. This does not include any type of software warranty beyond the guarantee of proper driver installation and OS install (if OS is provided at the time of computer build).
Used Computers/Parts - PC Provo offers a 7 day warranty on used computers and repairs made using used parts.
Technician Recommendations - When servicing computers PC Provo technicians may provide recommendations about how to repair or not repair a computer or part. It is strongly recommended that you listen to the technician recommendations. PC Provo technicians have a great deal of experience with computers and will give you an honest opinion based on experience and knowledge. If a recommendation from a PC Provo technician is not followed and your computer does not function properly after any service, PC Provo may not be held responsible. A service that is performed against a PC Provo technician recommendation is not covered by PC Provo warranty and PC Provo is not responsible for the results of any service performed against said recommendations.
Voiding the warranty - Service, including non-professional and professional service, done or performed by anyone, besides a PC Provo technician, during the standard warranty period may void your warranty at the discresion of PC Provo. Physical damage to the computer after the time of service may void the warranty at the discresion of PC Provo. Certain other exceptions do apply and will be evaluated on a situational basis by PC Provo staff.
Compatibility and Returns - PC Provo does not guarantee compatibility of any part or parts sold through PC Provo. It is the consumers responsibility to ensure part compatibility when ordering, purchasing, and picking up parts. This excludes parts ordered and used for a service performed by a PC Provo technician. If a part(s) needs to be returned due to incompatibility and it has been opened, a 20% restocking fee will be assessed after the device has been tested to ensure proper function. Some components will not be accepted for returns once they are opened due to the sensitivity of the component or part. Custom order parts may or may not be returnable at the discresion of PC Provo staff. Any and all returns that are not due to defect are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Any defect must be replicated and verified by a PC Provo technician and determined to be a non-user error before the return can be completed.
Virus Removal - Virus Removal has a 7 day guarantee but there is ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE against a reinfection. Abuse, tampering, high risk activities, and any actions not constituting normal computer use may void our warranties at our discretion. We will immediately assume that a computer has been misused if any browser histories or event logs have been cleared since time of pickup.
Privacy Policy - Authorized use of customers property:
PC Provo staff and authorized sub-contractors are authorized to use computers owned by customers to the degree that such use contributes to the tasks authorized by the customers or are required to troubleshoot, examine, repair or test a computer system or other device capable of storing private or confidential data, or contributes to preventative maintenance on the computer or device. PC Provo takes no responsibility for the failure of any hardware not purchased or currently under warranty from PC Provo even if it fails while in our possession, and no responsibility for any files that might be stored on any hardware.
PC Provo policy on customer data:
By leaving a computer system or other digital device with PC Provo staff and authorized sub-contractors, the customer gives implied consent and unlimited access to all data, private or otherwise, stored on the computer system.
PC Provo staff are required to treat all customers personal information stored on computer hard drives, CDs, DVDs memory sticks, flash cards or any digital format as confidential and are prohibited from viewing, copying, discussing or distributing such data except as needed to protect data from deletion or damage, troubleshoot, examine, repair or test a device capable of storing such data or as required by state and federal law. The ultimate responsibility for data backup and storage lies with the customer.
PC Provo will act with due diligence to protect the confidentiality of any data left in its possession, but will accept no liability for the loss or theft of such data.
Data - Any systems with illegal material may be subject to reporting to the proper authories. PC Provo will not be held responsible for backing up or saving any content that is illegal or offensive in nature.
UNCLAIMED SYSTEMS - 30-day limit: Systems that are not claimed within 15 days of notification of completion may incur storage fees of $2 per day (unless other advance arrangements have been made). Systems that are not claimed within 30 days of service completion (without prior arrangement) become the property of PC Provo. Systems which the customer chooses not to repair (after diagnosis) are still subject to the diagnostic charge, even if the system is never claimed and is eventually disposed of (at the discretion of PC Provo). The diagnostic charge may be credited towards subsequent work to replace the defunct system (within 30 days - call for details).
